Dr Francisco Martinez Saborido

Francisco is a senior family seasoned health specialist with an incredible depth of knowledge after working in Europe's busiest healthcare settings.

His medical career spans more than 30 years working in family practice, legal and forensic medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics and palliative care, in Spain, the United Kingdom and the Cayman Islands. He has joined MMG to spearhead the expansion of hospital services to meet growing demand into new international markets, starting with Canada.

He brings to the table three decades of global medical leadership and a deep understanding of how to align excellence in clinical practice with achievable and sustainable healthcare delivery.

Francisco holds an MA in Assessment Medicine (Legal and Occupational Medicine) from the University of Barcelona and completed his specialist training in Family and Community Medicine through Spain's Ministry of Health. He began his career in rural primary care in Spain, while also training in Legal and Forensic Medicine, before serving in Emergency Medicine at the Hospital Central de la Defensa Gómez Ulla, the country's leading military hospital.

In the UK, he worked in A&E at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn, Norfolk. Alongside clinical practice, he built extensive experience in legal medicine as Medical Director of several major European insurance companies in Madrid—including Baloise, Winterthur, and Groupama—and as head of malpractice case management for the Madrid Healthcare System through Willis Iberia.

He also has substantial courtroom experience in complex medico-legal cases.

Now based in the Cayman Islands, Francisco is Medical Director and co-founder of Integra Healthcare in Grand Cayman. Established in 2019, Integra has grown into the largest and most respected private outpatient clinic on the islands. Following its 2022 acquisition by Doctors Hospital, he continues to serve on the Integra management team, coordinating closely with the wider hospital group to deliver integrated, patient-centred care across preventive, urgent and chronic-care services.
