Blood tests before your treatment

Many treatments offered through My Medical Gateway require routine blood tests before your medical team can confirm that you are fit for surgery.

The exact blood test required will depend on the procedure you are having and the clinical requirements of your chosen hospital. Once you begin your treatment journey through the MMG platform, your MMG Accredited Healthcare Provider will advise you which blood test, or occasionally two blood tests, are required.

MMG can recommend established UK private hospital groups and diagnostic providers where these tests can be carried out conveniently before you travel. These include organisations such as Bupa UK, Circle Health Group, Spire Healthcare, Nuffield Health, Ramsay Health Care UK, HCA Healthcare UK, Practice Plus Group, Benenden Hospital, Alliance Medical and InHealth many of which operate hospitals, clinics and diagnostic facilities throughout the United Kingdom.

Most pre-operative blood tests involve a simple blood sample that is analysed by an accredited laboratory. Once completed, the results can be sent securely to your chosen MMG Accredited Healthcare Provider in Europe, helping to ensure that your treatment journey proceeds without unnecessary delay.
