Patrick Robertson

Patrick Robertson is an entrepreneur, investor and international communications strategist whose career spans nearly four decades advising governments, corporations, political leaders and prominent business figures on complex communications, political and reputational challenges.

While at Oxford, Patrick founded The Bruges Group in 1988 to challenge the emerging movement towards European federalism. Margaret Thatcher became its Honorary President in 1990, and the organisation subsequently played a prominent role in the debate over Britain's relationship with Europe. In 1991, Patrick joined the World Economic Forum as Special Adviser, where he developed a longstanding friendship with Dr Henry Kissinger. His book, Reshaping Europe in the 21st Century, followed in 1992.

Patrick established international communications consultancy WorldPR in the early 1990s, developing a particular reputation for high-stakes, cross-border strategic communications, sovereign reputation and crisis management.

In Britain, he directed the £35 million campaign of Sir James Goldsmith's Referendum Party during the 1997 General Election, creating one of the largest political communications campaigns of its era and contributing to the political pressure for a national referendum on Britain's membership of the European Union.

Internationally, his work has included campaigns involving the international positioning of Kazakhstan, EU sanctions against Austria, Chechen recognition and Zimbabwean opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai. His crisis and strategic advisory work has encompassed some of the most complex international political and legal controversies of recent decades, including assignments involving Augusto Pinochet, the Lockerbie case, Bill Browder and the Magnitsky campaign, Mukhtar Ablyazov, Imran Khan and Carlos Ghosn.

Today, Patrick, who speaks four languages, brings nearly four decades of experience in communications, digital strategy and building cross-border networks to the development of My Medical Gateway as an international healthcare marketplace.
