About Casa di Cura Tortorella Spa
Casa di Cura Tortorella is an established private multidisciplinary hospital in Salerno, southern Italy, with more than 70 years of experience in specialist medical and surgical care. Inaugurated on 10 June 1954 and founded by Giuseppe Tortorella, it is located in central Salerno, near the Amalfi Coast.
The hospital combines experienced consultant teams with extensive modern diagnostic facilities and a longstanding commitment to professional expertise, attentive personal service and coordinated patient care. Tortorella provides medical and surgical services across orthopaedics, spinal surgery, cardiology, oncology, general and paediatric surgery, ophthalmology and gynaecology. Orthopaedic capabilities include computer-navigated hip and knee replacement, shoulder and ankle replacement, ligament reconstruction and arthroscopic surgery. MMG patients are supported by Dr Francesco Aquino, Head of Orthopaedics, and Dr Carlo Massoni, whose complementary expertise spans joint replacement and arthroscopy, supported by physiotherapy and multidisciplinary clinical care.
Tortorella has 150 inpatient and day-hospital beds, four operating theatres, including an angiographic theatre, postoperative intermediate-care facilities, eight inpatient functional units and nine outpatient consulting rooms. Diagnostic resources include a 128-slice CT scanner, 1.5-Tesla MRI, digital radiology, ultrasound, bone-density assessment and on-site laboratories. Approximately 240 clinical, technical and administrative staff and collaborators support the hospital's integrated services and patient care.
