Bio: Dr Almantas Maleckas is a senior bariatric and general surgeon with over 35 years of clinical experience, recognised as a leading figure in minimally invasive and metabolic surgery in Europe. He obtained his medical degree from Kaunas University of Medicine in 1991 and completed his surgical training in general and abdominal surgery in the mid-1990s. He went on to earn a PhD in Medical Sciences in 2000 and later completed an MSc in Health Economics, Policy and Management at the London School of Economics, reflecting a broader engagement with healthcare systems and outcomes.
