Dr. Pablo Carnero Martín de Soto

Dr. Pablo Carnero Martín de Soto is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon and traumatologist specialising in disorders of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. Recognised for his expertise in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, upper limb reconstruction and sports injuries, he combines advanced surgical techniques with evidence-based rehabilitation to achieve excellent functional outcomes. He is Head of the Upper Limb Unit at IMATDE–Arthrosport and practises at HM Málaga, HM El Pilar and HM Santa Elena, where he treats a broad spectrum of complex upper limb conditions. His principal clinical interests include shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder replacement, wrist arthroscopy, fracture management, tendon reconstruction and biological therapies for sports-related injuries. Dr. Carnero graduated in Medicine from the University of Málaga before completing his specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology at Hospital Regional Universitario de Málaga between 2012 and 2017. During this period, he completed a Master's Degree in Shoulder Pathology at the International University of Andalusia (2014–2015) and a Master's Degree in Sports Traumatology at the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) (2014–2016). In 2016, he undertook a Clinical Research Fellowship in Hand and Wrist Surgery at the internationally renowned Rothman Institute in Philadelphia, USA, followed by advanced fellowship training in arthroscopic and shoulder surgery with Arthrosport Zaragoza between 2017 and 2021. In 2020, he completed the prestigious ESSKA Arthrex Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Schön Klinik in Munich, Germany. Alongside his clinical practice, Dr. Carnero has served as Coordinator of the Young Committee of the Spanish Arthroscopy Association and has been an instructor on Spain's National Arthroscopy Training Programme. He has authored more than 25 peer-reviewed scientific publications, contributed book chapters and delivered over 50 presentations at national and international orthopaedic meetings.
