Dr. Óscar Martínez Pérez

Dr. Martínez is an internationally renowned specialist in Gynecology and Obstetrics, widely recognized for his clinical, teaching, and research work in the fields of fetal medicine, prenatal diagnosis, and obstetric safety in the delivery room. His academic career began at the Autonomous University of Madrid, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree. He then completed his residency (MIR) in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of the University Hospital of Getafe, under the tutelage and direction of Professor Bajo Arenas. In 1997, he obtained his Doctorate in Medicine and Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid, defending a doctoral thesis that received the highest distinction of Cum Laude by unanimous decision of the examining committee. In 2000, he moved to London to pursue subspecialization in fetal medicine with the prestigious Fetal Medicine Foundation. In both clinical practice and management, Dr. Martínez Pérez has held positions of high responsibility within the Madrid Health Service. He has served as Head of Department and Coordinator of Outpatient Obstetrics and Gynecology in highly complex hospitals, most notably at the Gregorio Marañón University General Hospital in Madrid. His daily clinical practice specializes in the management and monitoring of high-risk pregnancies, chromosomal abnormality screening, advanced prenatal diagnosis, and the care of high-risk deliveries, such as twin births. His experience also extends to the corporate healthcare sector, where he has worked as an external medical consultant and scientific advisor for multinational pharmaceutical companies such as Pfizer (formerly Wyeth), actively collaborating in the development and launch of therapies focused on women's health.
