Dr. José María Verdaguer Muñoz

Dr. José María Verdaguer Muñoz is a prominent ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) specialist with a solid career in clinical practice, medical research, and healthcare management within the Community of Madrid, Spain. He earned his Degree in Medicine and Surgery and later obtained his PhD from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. His doctoral thesis, which focused on the analysis of voice alterations following thyroid surgery, was awarded the highest academic honors (Cum Laude). He completed his residency training at the Hospital Universitario La Paz and further advanced his technical expertise through a Fellowship in Otology. In the field of healthcare management, Dr. Verdaguer has extensive experience leading public health teams and services. He served as the Head of the Otolaryngology Section at the Hospital El Escorial from 2008 to 2013. Subsequently, he took on the role of Medical Deputy Director for the Surgical Area at the Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda between 2014 and 2021. His commitment to medical ethics and scientific research also led him to chair the Animal Experimentation Ethics Committee at the Puerta de Hierro Health Research Institute.
