Bio: Dr Luis Alberto García Rey is one of Galicia's leading gynaecologists and obstetricians with more than 25 years of specialist clinical experience. He has established an outstanding reputation in advanced gynaecological surgery, high-risk obstetrics and minimally invasive procedures. He combines a high-volume clinical practice with expertise in laparoscopic, hysteroscopic and robotic surgery, providing consultant-led care across the full spectrum of women's health, from pregnancy and childbirth to complex benign and oncological gynaecological conditions. Dr García Rey completed his medical training and specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Spain before developing particular expertise in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery. He has played a leading role in the introduction and development of robotic gynaecological surgery in Galicia and is one of the consultants who pioneered the use of the Da Vinci Surgical System at HM Modelo, the first private hospital in Galicia to introduce robotic surgery. Since the programme was established in 2015, he has led one of the hospital's dedicated robotic gynaecology teams, expanding access to complex minimally invasive procedures for women across north-west Spain.
