Dr. Ernest Zacharevskij

Dr Ernest Zacharevskij, PhD, is one of Lithuania's leading Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons more than 15 years of specialist experience. He has established an international reputation for advanced aesthetic, reconstructive and microsurgical procedures, combining meticulous surgical technique with an individualised, patient-centred approach. His principal areas of expertise include facial plastic surgery, breast surgery, abdominal body contouring and complex reconstructive procedures following trauma, cancer and significant weight loss. Dr Zacharevskij graduated with a Master of Medicine from the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in 2006 before completing his residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Hospital of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kaunas Clinics between 2007 and 2012. In 2018, he was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, reflecting his commitment to scientific research and academic excellence. He has subsequently held academic appointments at the University while combining teaching with an active consultant surgical practice. Throughout his career, Dr Zacharevskij has undertaken advanced specialist training in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Finland, the Czech Republic and Latvia, continually refining his expertise in reconstructive microsurgery, aesthetic surgery and wound management. He currently serves as Head of the Plastic Surgery Sector at Kaunas Clinics and is President of the Lithuanian Wound Treatment Association, representing Lithuania within the European Wound Management Association. He is also an active member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) and the Lithuanian Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Alongside his extensive clinical practice, Dr Zacharevskij has authored more than 25 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has contributed to research in reconstructive surgery, wound healing and plastic surgery. Within the MMG network, he represents a flagship plastic surgeon, offering patients internationally trained expertise, academic distinction and consultant-led cosmetic and reconstructive surgery within one of Lithuania's leading private hospitals.
