About

Dr Justinas Vaičiulis, MD, is a trauma surgeon with more than 17 years of clinical experience in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of sports injuries, joint disorders and traumatic musculoskeletal conditions. He specialises in shoulder, elbow and knee surgery, combining advanced arthroscopic techniques with evidence-based rehabilitation to restore function, relieve pain and enable patients to return safely to work, sport and everyday activities. Alongside his private practice, he continues to hold senior appointments at some of Lithuania's leading university and emergency trauma hospitals, providing extensive experience in both elective orthopaedics and acute trauma care. Dr Vaičiulis graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine at Vilnius University in 2008 before completing his residency in Orthopaedic Traumatology at Vilnius University between 2009 and 2014. During this period, he trained at several of Lithuania's leading trauma centres, including Vilnius University Hospital. Since qualifying as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in 2014, he has practised at Republic Vilnius University Hospital, Santaros Clinics and Meliva Kardiolita Hospital, where he has been a consultant since 2018. His principal clinical interests include arthroscopic knee surgery, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, shoulder stabilisation, Bankart reconstruction, Latarjet procedures, meniscal surgery, elbow arthroscopy, fracture fixation and the treatment of degenerative shoulder, elbow and knee disorders. He also performs musculoskeletal ultrasound and image-guided joint injections, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP), hyaluronic acid and other biological therapies to support recovery where clinically appropriate. Dr Vaičiulis has maintained a strong commitment to postgraduate education throughout his career. He holds Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification, has completed AO Trauma Basic and Advanced Principles of Fracture Management programmes, and has undertaken specialist musculoskeletal ultrasound training at Vilnius University. He has presented scientific research at the EFORT Congress and the Baltic Congress of Traumatology and Orthopaedics and serves as a Board Member and Treasurer of AO Trauma Lithuania. He is also a member of the Lithuanian Society of Orthopaedists and Traumatologists and AO Trauma International.
