Dr Mihal Adrian Cristescu

Dr Mihai Adrian Cristescu is one of Romania's leading consultant spine surgeons and an internationally recognised specialist in robotic-assisted spinal surgery. He serves at Monza as Head of Robotic Spinal Surgery and Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon and is also Co-Director of the Centre of Excellence in Robotic Spine Surgery. With more than two decades of clinical experience, Dr Cristescu has established a reputation for treating complex spinal disorders using advanced surgical techniques that combine precision, safety and improved patient outcomes. He graduated from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, one of Eastern Europe's foremost medical schools, before completing specialist training in neurosurgery at several of Romania's leading tertiary centres, including Bagdasar-Arseni Emergency Clinical Hospital and the Central Military Emergency University Hospital. He subsequently undertook advanced fellowship training in spinal surgery at the internationally renowned Foch Hospital in Paris. In 2012, he was awarded the title of Senior Consultant in Neurosurgery and later achieved the prestigious European Diploma in Spinal Surgery, one of the highest specialist qualifications in the discipline. Dr Cristescu performs more than 400 spinal operations each year, placing him among the highest-volume spine surgeons in the region.
