Dr. Jorge Muñoz Cabrera

Dr Jorge Carlos Muñoz Cabrera is a highly experienced consultant gynaecologist and gynaecological oncologist with more than three decades of specialist clinical practice in advanced minimally invasive surgery, gynaecological oncology and breast disease. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the National University of Rosario, Argentina, before completing his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the National University of Cuyo, Mendoza, between 1991 and 1994. He subsequently undertook postgraduate training in breast disease at Mendoza's Central Hospital and completed postgraduate studies in oncology through the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the National University of Cuyo and the FUESMEN Foundation. His international postgraduate training has included specialist programmes in gynaecological oncology and breast pathology at the University of Campinas in São Paulo, Brazil, advanced training through the European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University Hospital of Cologne in Germany, and a specialist rotation in gynaecological oncology at Hospital Clínic Barcelona. This broad international experience has enabled him to develop particular expertise in advanced laparoscopic surgery, vaginal surgery, hysteroscopy, pelvic floor reconstruction and the surgical management of complex benign and malignant gynaecological conditions. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr Muñoz has held senior clinical appointments in both Argentina and Spain, including consultant positions in gynaecological oncology, breast disease and advanced minimally invasive surgery, together with leadership roles directing complex surgical programmes and multidisciplinary cancer services. He has also served as Director of the Surgical Area at Hospital-Clínica La Salud in Cádiz and participated in Spain's pioneering multidisciplinary uterine transplantation programme. An accomplished academic, Dr Muñoz has lectured at several universities in Argentina, supervised specialist training programmes and contributed to the education of postgraduate doctors throughout his career. He is the author or co-author of more than 40 scientific publications, including award-winning research in gynaecological oncology, laparoscopic surgery, pelvic floor reconstruction and sentinel lymph node surgery, and has presented at more than 100 national and international scientific meetings.
