Dr. Antonio Durán Rodríguez-Hervada

Dr Antonio Durán Rodríguez-Hervada is one of Galicia's most experienced consultant orthopaedic surgeons. With more than three decades of specialist practice, he has developed extensive expertise in arthroscopic surgery, sports traumatology and the treatment of complex musculoskeletal disorders. His clinical philosophy combines accurate diagnosis, evidence-based surgical techniques and comprehensive rehabilitation to restore mobility, relieve pain and maximise long-term functional outcomes. Dr Durán graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Santiago de Compostela before completing his specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology at the prestigious Ramón y Cajal University Hospital in Madrid between 1983 and 1988. Throughout his career he has remained committed to continuing professional education and has become a respected figure in orthopaedic practice across north-west Spain. He is a founding member of the A Coruña Society of Traumatology and Sports Medicine and has been a member of the Spanish Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SECOT) since 1993. His practice encompasses the full spectrum of orthopaedic and trauma surgery, with particular expertise in arthroscopic knee surgery, sports injuries, meniscal tears, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, shoulder disorders and the management of traumatic musculoskeletal injuries. He also performs surgery for common orthopaedic conditions including hallux valgus (bunions), carpal tunnel syndrome and degenerative joint disease. In addition, he has extensive experience in assessing, treating and rehabilitating acute and chronic cervical spine injuries following road traffic accidents, working within HM Hospitales' dedicated traffic injury service. Alongside his hospital responsibilities, Dr Durán practises through COTRAM, one of Galicia's leading orthopaedic specialist groups, providing consultant-led care supported by modern diagnostic imaging, arthroscopic surgery and structured rehabilitation programmes.
