Bio: Prof. Šarūnas Tarasevičius is a leading orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip surgery and joint replacement, with over 20 years of clinical and academic experience. His profile combines high surgical volume, advanced research credentials and international academic engagement, positioning him as one of the foremost arthroplasty specialists in the Baltic region.
He obtained his medical degree from Kaunas University of Medicine in 2000, before completing his specialist training in Orthopaedics and Traumatology in 2005. He went on to earn a PhD in 2007 focused on outcomes in hip replacement surgery, and further advanced his research through doctoral-level work at Lund University in Sweden, strengthening his expertise in evidence-based orthopaedics.
Prof. Tarasevičius has performed more than 5,000 joint replacement procedures, including both primary and revision hip surgeries, with a clinical focus on restoring mobility, optimising implant performance and improving long-term patient outcomes.
