About Hospital Universitario HM Madrid Río
Hospital Universitario HM Madrid Río is a modern general medical and surgical hospital located in Madrid’s central Arganzuela district. Opened on 14 October 2024 following an investment of €55 million, it forms part of HM Hospitales, one of Spain’s leading private healthcare groups, and provides advanced consultant-led care to Spanish and international patients.
The hospital delivers services across major medical and surgical specialties, including orthopaedics and traumatology, general and digestive surgery, gynaecology, urology, cardiology, vascular surgery, dermatology and advanced endoscopy. Its multidisciplinary teams are supported by 24-hour emergency care, an intensive care unit, a modern operating suite, hospital pharmacy and an on-site clinical laboratory.
HM Madrid Río occupies more than 10,000 square metres and provides 77 beds, 40 outpatient consulting rooms, 10 emergency treatment bays and seven individual day-hospital bays. Its diagnostic imaging department includes two high-field MRI scanners, multislice CT, conventional radiology, high-resolution ultrasound and a dedicated Women’s Unit with tomosynthesis and breast-intervention facilities. A digital clinical platform enables secure, real-time information sharing across the HM Hospitales network.
